The Smart Home is a home that is equipped with network-connected products (i.e., "smart products," connected via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or similar protocols) for controlling, automating and optimizing functions such as temperature, lighting, security, safety or entertainment, either remotely by a phone, tablet, computer or a separate system within the home itself.
A smart home appears "intelligent" because its computer systems can monitor so many aspects of daily living. For example, the refrigerator may be able to inventory its contents, suggest menus, recommend healthy alternatives, and order groceries. The smart home systems might even take care of cleaning up things and watering the plants as well as monitoring their growth.
Our Smart CUDO has all the IoT features embedded in, allowing it to automatically monitor and take care of the crops. It has also the connections with the smart devices and the cloud servers.
The IoT control unit has the automatic water level monitoring and control. It also monitors the nutrient solution by measuring accurately its concentration level, and automatically dose the water chamber with the nutrient solution.
It also controls the pumps for different functions: to purify the water, to regulate the aeration when the Cudo is reconfigurated with the air pump for certain crops, For an aquaponic version of Cudo, the pump can be reconfigured as an oxygen pump.
In terms of temperature control, the IoT control unit determines the adequate range of the temperature for the crops, and control the temperature or adjust the climate control device of the enclosure, or send room temperature control commands to the smart home hub. Similarly the humidity control can be performed for the enclosure.
The lighting conditions are also monitored through the light sensor, for adjusting the lumen and spectrum, when the enclosure with the grow light components are installed. according to the types of the crops and the environmental lighting conditions.
More importantly, the IoT control unit establish all the necessary communications with the smart devices, smart home hub and the cloud.
Connected Living describes a world in which our homes, work, and city are all seamlessly connected through multiple smart devices that integrate video, voice, and data services to provide access and ubiquitous connectivity anytime and anywhere. What this means is that we will have new styles of living and working singularly and collaboratively.
Smart devices play very important roles in connected living. Smartphones and smartwatches are not the only smart devices. Smart devices can be anything electronic that have some kind of connection to a companion device or network. Our Smart CUDO is definitely one of these devices.
Our IoT enabled Smart CUDO allows people to have very easy access to home growing activities, sharing home growing experiences, and enriching their social networking lifestyle.
